Code
Inline code looks like numpy.linalg.norm(x). A code block with syntax highlighting:
import numpy as np
def soft_threshold(x, tau):
"""Proximal operator of the l1 norm."""
return np.sign(x) * np.maximum(np.abs(x) - tau, 0.0)
print(soft_threshold(np.array([-2.0, 0.5, 3.0]), 1.0))
Math
Inline math sits inside a sentence, like \(y = Ax + e\) for a linear measurement model.
A displayed equation goes in its own paragraph:
\[\hat{x} = \arg\min_{x} \left\{ \frac{1}{2} \|y - Ax\|_2^2 + \lambda \|x\|_1 \right\}\]Image
